Job summary

MKS Instruments is seeking an Assembler II for our Andover, MN location. You will join the production team partnering with Andover Production and report to the Supervisor.

You will perform a wide range of assembly tasks on sub-assemblies, following drawings and specifications to ensure quality and on-time delivery. The role requires at least 1 year of related experience and hands-on skills in soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing.

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of related experience required.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, reading drawings, and arithmetic.
  • Soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assembly on sub-assemblies.
  • Follow methods and sequence of operations, wiring and component installation.
  • Create set-ups and adjustments while maintaining blueprint tolerances.
  • Possibly test equipment and products.

A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As an Assembler II at Pressure & VM Solutions, you will partner with Andover Production. In this role, you will report to the Supervisor.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, and mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies

  • Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, and cable harnessing on assembly units

  • Make set-ups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint specifications

  • May be responsible for testing equipment and products

Skills You Bring:
  • 1+ year of related experience required

  • Requires production experience with vocational instruction in electro-mechanical assembly, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, ability to work from established drawings, and experience in soldering, wire-wrapping and cable harnessing.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
  • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination

  • Occasionally moves/positions objects up to 50 pounds

  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for 90% of the time

  • Frequently positions self to perform tasks and positions objects below, at, and above shoulder level

  • Regularly requires manual dexterity and coordination of objects below, at and above shoulder level

  • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand

  • Must be able to exchange accurate information

  • Operates in a manufacturing environment

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery

  • Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)

  • Dedication to safety to mitigate hazards, including handling mechanical and electrical hardware, high voltage, gas, water, and heat

Compensation and Benefits:

Pay Range: $16.70 - 27.83 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law.At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.

Bonus: This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
