Aerotek is seeking an Assembler for a 2nd shift, contract-to-hire role in Batavia, IL. You will assemble components using hand tools and simple machine tools, inspect and test assemblies, and ensure quality per prints and specifications.

Job description

Job Title: Assembler Job Description

The Assembler produces, assembles, and tests products using manual methods, hand tools, and simple machine tools. This role focuses on following established processes to build high-quality components, perform inspections and electrical tests, and support continuous improvement in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Follow heater bending and assembly processes to produce high-quality parts in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
  • Perform electrical testing, including hi-pot and ohm meter tests, to verify product performance and safety.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure products meet quality standards throughout the production cycle.
  • Work safely at all times, adhering to all safety guidelines, procedures, and use of appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Manage inventory for assigned products by receiving, counting, and pulling parts needed for production.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions and complete all required documentation clearly and correctly.
  • Actively participate as a team member to support continuous operational improvement in production, service, quality, safety, and leadership.
  • Use all communication channels effectively to share information quickly, clearly, and accurately with team members and other departments.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by supporting and working in other departments as required to meet production and business needs.
  • Use hand tools and simple machine tools to assemble components according to prints, drawings, and shop paperwork.
  • Plan and prioritize daily tasks to meet production schedules while maintaining high attention to detail and quality.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing facility on the 2nd shift, from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The environment can become hot during the summer months. Assemblers have their own workbench and may choose to sit or stand while performing their tasks. The role involves working with hand tools, simple machine tools, measuring devices such as scales and calipers, and computer systems for documentation and inventory transactions. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $19.50/hr.
