Assembler Technician I – Rolling Stock

Lexington, North Carolina | 1st Shift

Build the trains that move America.

At Siemens Mobility, we’re transforming the future of transportation, and you can be part of it.

Join our growing team at our passenger rail manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC, where we build the next generation of rail vehicles for communities across North America. As an Assembler Technician I, you’ll work hands‑on with a team assembling mechanical and electrical components that become part of Siemens Mobility passenger rail vehicles.

If you have experience in manufacturing, automotive, construction, electrical work, mechanical assembly, or another hands‑on environment, we want to hear from you.

Your Schedule
  • 1st Shift: Monday–Thursday 5:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:30 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.
What You’ll Do

As an Assembler Technician I, you’ll perform hands‑on mechanical and electrical assembly work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Your responsibilities may include:

  • Build and assemble components used in passenger rail vehicles, including roofs, cable harnesses, electrical racks, panels, air‑supply racks, and piping assemblies.
  • Install mechanical components such as insulation, sidewall panels, seating, luggage racks, windows, and door assemblies.
  • Route, connect, and terminate electrical wiring harnesses and subassemblies.
  • Apply adhesives and assemble and align floor panels, windows, and door systems.
  • Read and follow production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches, and work instructions.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete assembly operations.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, and reassemble components when needed.
  • Perform detailed assembly work requiring good hand‑eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to quality.

This aligns closely with the existing internal role, which includes mechanical subassembly, wiring, rework, and assembly using blueprints and related production documentation.

What You Bring

You don’t need to come from the rail industry to build a career with us.

In addition to a great work ethic, we’re looking for candidates with:

  • A high school diploma, state‑recognized GED, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a hands‑on environment such as manufacturing, automotive, construction, electrical work, mechanical assembly, maintenance, or skilled trades.
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a production team.
  • Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, or parts lists is helpful, but not required.
Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands‑on manufacturing position. Team members must be able to:

  • Frequently walk, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and work in different physical positions.
  • Climb stairs, steps, and ladders.
  • Work on elevated platforms.
  • Perform work overhead.
  • Occasionally lift and move up to 40 pounds.
  • Perform detailed assembly requiring close vision, depth perception, color recognition, and the ability to focus.
Why Build Your Career with Siemens Mobility?

This is more than an assembly job. It’s an opportunity to build products that people and communities depend on every day while building your own career with a global technology company.
