Job summary

Sister Bay Furniture A Prestwick Company is seeking an Assembly Technician to build quality furniture in a fast-paced setting in Wisconsin. You will follow order descriptions, operate power tools, and help maintain lead times to hit daily, weekly, and monthly goals.

Responsibilities include assembling parts, keeping a clean workspace, communicating with the Production Supervisor, learning product codes, and supporting other departments as needed while upholding safety standards and quality.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of safety rules in a manufacturing setting.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience using power tools.
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team.
  • Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment is a plus.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles products according to order descriptions and prints, utilizing established procedures and correct materials.
  • Operates assembly tools as directed and learns a wide range of assembly items.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, supplies, and materials are properly stored.
  • Communicates effectively with the Production Supervisor and Area Leads regarding issues, concerns, status updates, and improvement suggestions.
  • Actively contributes to team success and makes decisions aligned with organizational values.
  • Continuously expands job knowledge, including products and product codes.
  • Adheres to all safety requirements, work rules, and company policies.
  • Demonstrates a quality-first mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Collaborates with the Production Supervisor to identify and prevent future product issues.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Purpose of Position: To assemble quality furniture at a steady pace. We are here to serve our customers to the best of our ability with the highest quality furniture and best in class lead times. This position will help produce products to maintain lead times and help hit daily, weekly and monthly goals.Position Overview: This position is responsible for assembling parts in the assembly area. This includes using power tools and machines to complete necessary features for assembly.Below are just some of the responsibilities and expectations that come along with this position.Duties and Responsibilities:Assembles assigned products according to order descriptions and prints, utilizing established procedures and correct materials.Operates assembly tools as directed and learns a wide range of assembly items.Maintains a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, supplies, and materials are properly stored.Communicates effectively with the Production Supervisor and Area Leads regarding issues, concerns, status updates, and improvement suggestions.Actively contributes to team success and makes decisions aligned with organizational values.Continuously expands job knowledge, including products and product codes.Adheres to all safety requirements, work rules, and company policies.Demonstrates a quality-first mindset with meticulous attention to detail.Collaborates with the Production Supervisor to identify and prevent future product issues.Provides support to other operations departments as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.** This position is responsible for but not limited to all the tasks and duties listed above *What Success Looks Like: Success is met when this position demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of most assembly procedures. This will help in the team's goal of hitting daily, weekly and monthly performance goalsSkills and Qualifications:Basic understanding of safety rules in a manufacturing setting.Minimum 6 months of experience using power tools, such as hand power drills and drivers.Ability and willingness to work as a team.Previous experience in a production or warehouse environment is a plus.Physical Demands and Work Environment:Work in a manufacturing plant or assembly area with exposure to industrial equipment and machinery.Ability to lift and move materials or components, sometimes up to 50 pounds.Ability to stand, bend, or walk for extended periods.Often required to reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.Ability to complete repetitive tasks.Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
