Job summary

STEEL CRAFT in Hartford, CT is seeking a Mechanical Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble parts from blueprints, use hand and power tools, and ensure products meet quality and safety standards.

Candidates should have a High School diploma and at least 6 months of mechanical assembly experience, be able to read drawings, and maintain accurate production records. The role demands attention to detail and teamwork in a loud plant environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Assemble parts and components into finished products per blueprints and instructions.
  • Inspect and test parts to ensure they meet quality standards and function properly.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools and automated machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain inventory and ensure materials/tools are available for production.
  • Perform routine tool and machine maintenance; follow safety guidelines.
  • Document production records and assist with process improvements.

Job description

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling parts or components into finished products, often using hand tools, power tools, or automated machinery. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions, and ensuring that all assembly processes meet quality and safety standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssemble various parts and components into finished products based on blueprints, technical drawings, or instructions.Inspect and test parts and assemblies to ensure they meet specified quality standards and function properly.Operate hand tools, power tools, and automated machinery to complete the assembly process efficiently and safely.Ensure that all materials, components, and tools required for assembly are available and organized.Perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery used in the assembly process to ensure proper function.Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.Maintain accurate records of production, assembly processes, and inventory levels.Troubleshoot any issues related to assembly, machinery, or parts and take appropriate action to resolve them.Work closely with other team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of assembly tasks.Participate in ongoing training and contribute to process improvements to increase efficiency and quality.Other Duties as Assigned: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
