Job summary

Legrand in St. Louis, MO is seeking an Assembler to join the OCL Team. You will assemble, test and modify electrical components using blueprints and schematics, employing various machines and adhesives to complete light fixtures.

The role requires reading wiring diagrams, aligning parts, routing cables, installing components, inspecting for defects, and verifying operation through testing. A high school diploma and manufacturing exposure are expected, with strong manual dexterity and teamwork

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; trade school required.
  • Six months of manufacturing experience or training or equivalent.
  • Must have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize under deadlines.
  • Regular attendance required; ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings; follow verbal instructions.
  • Align and assemble parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals into housing.
  • Route and lace cables; install components and parts on panels and units.
  • Connect wires and connectors to form circuitry and power sources.

  • Replace defective components and wiring.
  • Assemble and calibrate fixtures according to specifications.

Job Overview

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for an Assembler to join the OCL Team in St. Louis, MO. The role involves the assembly, test, and modification of electrical components using blueprints and schematics. The assembler will use various machines and adhesives to fully assemble a light fixture.

Responsibilities
  • Reads blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and receives verbal instructions regarding work assignment.
  • Aligns and assembles parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals into housing.
  • Routes and laces cables.
  • Installs components and parts such as switches, coils, transformers, relays, transistors, ballasts, and semiconductor circuits on panels and other units.
  • Routes and attaches wires and connectors to form circuitry and connects assembly to power supply sources, switch panels, or junction boxes; attaches hardware and seals assembly.
  • Examines parts for defects: both visual (chips, scratches) and operational.
  • Tests unit to locate defects, measure performance, determine need for adjustment and verify specified operation.
  • Replaces defective component and wiring.
  • Assembles and calibrates fixture according to specifications.
Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED; trade school.
Experience:
  • Six months of manufacturing experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
  • Good hand-eye coordination and excellent manual dexterity, ability to work with small, detailed objects.
  • Work independently with ability to prioritize and work under sometimes tight deadlines.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Ability to retain new information and skills.
