Job summary

Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS) in Smithfield, NC is seeking a manufacturing associate to perform large parts assembly and uphold quality and safety in daily cell work.

You will read and follow standard work instructions, hit daily production targets, document activities, attend training, and communicate with supervision about quality, parts supply, and safety issues. PPE will be required, and overtime may be needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of manufacturing experience helpful but not required.
• Proficient in English reading, writing and verbal communication.
• Willing to work 40+ hours and overtime as needed; follow safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow standard work instructions and assembly procedures.
• Meet daily production and quality targets for assigned cell.
• Document cell activity, quality issues, and parts supply for supervisor.
• Attend required training and adhere to safety policies at all times.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and keep workstation clean.
• Work with tools as required and maintain high ethical standards.

Successful candidate will:

Complete required large parts assembly activities for an assigned cell while consistently maintaining product quality and safe work practices.

• Meet and maintain daily production rates and goals as established and required by the company.
• Read and follow standard work instructions.
• Keep supervisory staff informed of all cell activity including but not limited to information related to quality, parts supply and safety issues that may occur within the scope of responsibility.
• Complete all required cell activities and documentation for assigned work cell as requested by supervisor.
• Attend all required training.
• Adhere to safety procedures at all times.
• Address all quality and safety concerns via the appropriate channels for an assigned cell.
• Participate in all required continuous improvement activities as required by the business.
• Keep workstation clean, orderly, and free of safety hazards at all times.
• Actively participate in all department projects, tasks and objectives but not limited to continuous improvement activities.
• Maintain the highest ethical standards.
• Must be able to use all required hand tools in an assigned work area.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Required Essential Functions of the Job/Experience Needed:

• High School Diploma or GED or in lieu of education, must possess 1 year of recent steady manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in English comprehension and expression both verbal and written.
• Adhere to all required company policies.
• Must be able to work all scheduled hours (40+ hours) and work overtime as mandated by the business.
• Must be willing and able to adhere to plant safety policies.
• Meet and maintain daily production rates and goals as required by the business.
• Read and follow standard work instructions.
• Be able to lift up to 50 pounds of weight on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, push and pull with both hands greater than 25 pounds repetitively, bend, twist, kneel, climb, and work in weather extremes (>90 degrees).
• Must be able to wear required PPE.

• This position is eligible to earn a discretionary bonus based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable bonus plan.
