Job summary

Volvo Construction Equipment is seeking an assembly-focused professional to join our production team. You will follow complex drawings and BOMs to assemble machines or subassemblies, ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.

You will collaborate with team leaders and managers to plan efficient workflows and diagnose issues during assembly and testing. The role emphasizes hands-on assembly, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 40 lbs, pull 100 lbs, push 35 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, kneel, bend and climb stairs as needed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform diversified assembly operations required to assemble various sizes and models of construction equipment. Work involves the assembly of complete machines, machine sections or subassemblies, as assigned, and the collaboration to diagnose malfunctions or difficulties concerned with the mechanical aspect of the unit under erection, its hydraulic systems, ignition or control circuits
  • Receive direction from the Manager and daily work assignments from the Team Leader. Work from complex drawings, work instructions, bill of material sheets, material lists, and specifications to plan assembly operations, ensuring conformity to specification
  • Interpret drawings to verify material requirements and plan an efficient sequence of operations. Fit, adjust, and align components, such as gears, shafts, keys, and bearings; assemble complete machines or sub-assembly as zones are assigned
  • Conduct running and performance tests. After running tests, diagnose malfunctions, dismantle, clean, and inspect for damage or distortion. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
  • Detect and report faulty operation, defective material, questionable drawing requirements, and unusual conditions to the proper authority. Maintain working area in neat and orderly conditions as set by 5s standards daily
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Follow policies and procedures, support the organization's goals
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; looks for ways to improve and promote quality; applies feedback to improve performance; monitors own work to ensure quality

  • Must be able to walk short distances, stand for long periods of time, crouch/squat/kneel/bend/rotate, sit for short periods of time, and climb stairs

For this position, the base pay is set at $24.62 - $31.34/hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.
