Job summary

Volvo Group in Kings Mountain, NC is seeking an assembler to join our Kings Mountain Operations. You will set up and perform assembly on various lines, using hand and power tools, contributing to quality and efficiency.

You will work in a safety-focused environment, learn and apply Volvo values, and contribute to a collaborative team dedicated to reliable transport solutions. Training and development are part of the role as you grow with the company.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic math and reading comprehension required.
  • Willingness to develop in alignment with Volvo Way and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and perform assembly/fabrication operations on bench or line.
  • Follow process work instructions and operate hand/power tools.
  • Perform inspections as outlined in inspection sheets.
  • Use measurement tools to ensure quality and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area and support team goals.

Job description

As an Assembler, you will hold a very important role in the Kings Mountain Operations (KMO) facility. In this role, you will be responsible for utilizing equipment to consistently produce a quality product in an efficient manner.

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Setting up and performing simple and complex assembly/fabrication operations on bench, floor fixture, or progressive manufacturing line.
  • Performing tasks as outlined in the process work instructions.
  • Operating hand and/or power tools.
  • Perform inspections as outlined in the Inspection Instruction sheets.
  • Operate manual production equipment consisting of spot welders, mig welders, gas welder, plasma-cutters, sealer flow guns, spray guns, sanders, grinders equipment as appropriate for assigned areas.
  • Use various measurement tools.
  • Proper handling of Hazardous Waste generated by plant.
  • Upholding and maintaining the team-oriented environment with quality goals.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Team Leader, Supervisor, and/or Manager.
  • Maintain a clean work area.
Education, Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma and/or GED with basic math skills and reading comprehension.
  • Basic understanding of industrial safety practices.
  • 0-2 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment is desired.
  • Willingness to develop in alignment with the Volvo Way and the Code of Conduct.

For this position, the base pay is set at $21.62/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
