Job summary

MiTek Industries in Saint Charles, MO is seeking a dedicated Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will assemble machines and sub-assemblies according to blueprints and schematics, perform layout, drill, and tap operations, and align components before fastening with bolts, screws, and rivets.

Maintain a clean work area and work to standard work instructions. The role requires reading prints, basic geometry, and proficiency with small hand tools and tape measures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read prints and schematics.
  • Ability to read a tape measure (1/32 inch increments).
  • Proficiency with small hand tools and basic geometry.
  • Strong math and measurement skills.
  • Ability to use Windows and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble machines, equipment, and sub-assemblies per blueprints, schematics, and instructions.
  • Perform minor layout work, drilling, and tapping.
  • Align components and fasten with bolts, screws, and rivets.
  • Assemble sub-assemblies per drawings or work instructions with supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Attend and be prepared for the scheduled shift.

Job Responsibilities & RequirementsA Brief OverviewThe Assembler will be responsible to assemble machines, equipment, and their sub-assemblies using Lean and 5S methodologies and by following blueprints, schematics, and other work instructions and other written and verbal specifications.ResponsibilitiesPerform minor layout work, drilling, and tappingRemove small quantities of metal to clean parts or to produce close fit between partsAligns components, and bolts, screws, and rivets them togetherAssemble sub-assemblies per drawing and/or work instructions with supervisionMaintain clean and organized work areaAttendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the work station ready for work at the start of the shiftQualificationsHigh School/GED required1-2 Years Experience in manufacturing or job shop environment preferredAble to perform mathematical skills such as calculating proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume and able to apply concepts of basic geometryAbility to read and understand prints and schematicsAbility to use small hand-power tools, including reading a tape measure with 1/32-inch incrementsAble to use Microsoft Office ApplicationsSoft SkillsComputer Skills: Windows Operating SystemsLanguage Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
