Job summary

Basin Industries in Roanoke, IL is seeking an assembler to join our metal fabrication team. You will ensure part and rack quality along the line, read blueprints, perform shop math, and use standard hand tools.

Shifts run Monday–Friday with overtime as needed; 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Benefits include health insurance, 401k, paid holidays and vacation, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Read a calibrated tape measure.
• Read blueprints and interpret them accurately.
• Perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractions.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality procedures.
• Proficient use of standard hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Ensure part/rack quality is maintained from station to station.
• Rack fit/form/part fit checks before removal from line.
• Assist with line changeovers as needed.
• Assist other departments as required.

Assembler's essential duties and responsibilities:

• Ensure that part/rack quality is maintained from station to station.
• Rack fit form, function, part fit if available is done before part/rack is removed from line.
• Assist with line change overs as needed.
• Assist other departments as required.

Required experience and skills:

• Perform simple shop math and convert decimals to fractional equivalents
• Read a calibrated tape measure
• Read and interpret blueprints
• Ability to read and interpret documents finished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals
• Proficient use of standard hand tools
