Job summary

Hamilton by Gunnebo in Milford, CT is seeking a production assembler. The role requires performing simple to complex assembly processes, reading blueprints, and using hand and power tools to meet close tolerances.

Some welding fabrication tasks may be required, with safety gear mandatory. You will interpret Process Flow Instructions, report production data, follow work instructions, and maintain quality and housekeeping.

Qualifications

  • Experience as an Assembler with prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with hand and power tools required.
  • Welding experience or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read blueprints preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Consistent work history and good attendance.
  • Ability to pass a post offer drug screen and background check.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Must wear steel-toe shoes and safety glasses at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Installation of components to specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Ensure parts match drawings and meet quality standards.
  • Interpret blueprints and process flow instructions.
  • Accurately report shop floor production data to Process or Team Lead.
  • Follow visual and written work instructions to complete tasks on time.
  • Maintain equipment and good housekeeping; adhere to safety rules.
  • Utilize travelors per SOP.
  • Support other projects; perform duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job description

This production assembly position requires the ability to perform simple to complex processes depending on the product being assembled/fabricated. Typically requires fitting, alignment, and adjustment of components, units, and assemblies to very close tolerances to complete mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. At times may require working with parts or components which may be difficult to handle and other skills which require good dexterity. Hand and power tools are utilized to complete the assemblies. There are some welding fabrication tasks that are performed in the completion of tasks. May utilize detailed engineering drawings, assembly sketches or other input documents of similar complexity.

Who we are looking for:
  • Installation of components to specifications, using various hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Ensures that the parts provided match the drawings and the quality of the components for product being assembled to meet Quality Standards.
  • Interprets blueprints, Process Flow Instructions and other written or verbal instructions.
  • Accurately reports shop floor production data to Process or Team Lead for input to computer terminal and/or written reporting.
  • Follows both visual and written work instructions in order to complete assigned tasks within set time allotted.
  • Maintains quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintains equipment, including daily cleaning to maintain good housekeeping and adheres to plant regulations and safety rules.
  • Utilizes product travelors per standard operating procedures.
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.
