Job description

Performs simple repetitive mechanical or electro-mechanical sub-assembly work. Direction provided by verbal instructions or established assembly procedures. Requires simple adjusting and fitting of pre-finished parts. Uses simple hand tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs assembly operations such as wire bonding, soldering, spot welding, staking, or epoxying.
  • Performs assembly under a microscope.
  • Hand solders pins, cables, components, sub-assemblies, and completed units.
  • Operates ultrasonic welding apparatus.
  • Attaches various I.C.s, transistors, resistors, or thermistors to P.C. boards.
  • Performs oil fill operations.
  • Conducts tests on final units.
  • Performs life testing programs utilizing a computer.
  • Provides training or instruction for co-workers and other employees when needed.
  • May operate turning-center-assisted TIG welding according to specific programs established by Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
  • May rotate to other workstations within the unit.
  • Meets or exceeds departmental targets set by supervisors or managers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards and company policies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute positively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Soldering experience or certification preferred.
  • Good hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity for working with small parts. Work is typically performed at a bench, involving standing or walking.
  • Basic computer skills.

EDUCATION: Minimum high school diploma or GED.
