Job summary

Teledyne Micropac is seeking an assembler to perform a wide range of electronic and mechanical assembly tasks, including wiring, soldering, cable harnessing, and wire bonding, in a high-reliability environment.

You will read engineering drawings, follow procedures, and ensure quality checks throughout production, with opportunities to train others and work under microscopes for delicate hand assembly.

Qualifications

  • Excellent manual dexterity and manufacturing knowledge.
  • Ability to read and work from engineer drawings, work instructions and bills of materials.
  • Solid, quality minded work ethic with attention to detail and precision.
  • Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control.
  • High School Diploma and basic computer skills are a necessity.
  • 1–2 years of experience in manufacturing assembly, production environment, or cleanroom experience.
  • Overtime may be required with advance notice.

Responsibilities

  • Follow production drawings, procedures and work instructions in detail for satellites, medical, defense/aerospace, and high-reliability applications.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Operate and set up Manual Wire Bonding equipment for thermosonic gold/aluminum wire bonding.
  • Collaborate with teammates, QC and process engineers to ensure products meet specs.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness protocols and assist with training as needed.
  • Perform production assembler duties as directed by Supervisor.
  • Delicately hand-assemble electronics using solder, epoxy, and wire bonding under microscopes.
  • Inspect completed work against quality requirements.

Job Description

Teledyne Micropac is looking for an Assembler who performs a wide variety of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical or measurement product assembly operations on product components, assemblies or sub-assemblies. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, welding and fitting on assembly units. Makes setups and adjustments holding tolerances to blueprint specifications.

What you’ll do
  • Follow production drawings, procedures and work instructions in detail, understands and applies established workmanship practices for all facets of satellites, medical, defense/aerospace and high reliability industrial applications
  • Ensure that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Operate and set up Manual Wire Bonding equipment to perform thermosonic gold wire and aluminum wire bonding.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other teammates, quality control and process engineers to ensure product meets strict specifications.
  • Attentiveness to details and adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols are essential.
  • Assist with training as required.
  • Perform production assembler duties as determined by Supervisor.
  • Delicate hand assembly of electronics devices using solder, epoxy, and wire bonding techniques specifically under the microscopes.

What you need
  • Possess excellent manual dexterity, manufacturing knowledge. Experience with small parts, small hand tools, equipment, and microscope - required
  • Ability to read and work from engineer drawings, work instructions and bills of material to understand the required parts and steps needed to complete the assigned assembly - required
  • Possess a solid, quality minded work ethic and a strong attention to detail with a strong desire for precision and accuracy when executing job duties. - required
  • Knowledge of Foreign Object Debris (FOD control.) - required
  • High School Diploma and basic computer skills are a necessity - required
  • A minimum of 1 - 2 years of experience in a manufacturing assembly, production environment, or cleanroom experience is essential - required
  • If overtime is necessary, reasonable efforts will be made to provide employees with adequate advance notice, however, sometimes overtime may be mandatory.
