Job summary

Teledyne Microwave Solutions, in Mountain View, CA, seeks an Assembler to join a team that builds advanced RF and microwave components for aerospace, defense and communications. You will assemble, test and troubleshoot mechanical assemblies with precision, under magnification, supporting radar, space and electronic warfare applications.

Qualifications

  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to work under a microscope.
  • Knowledge of thin-film assembly processes and MIC equipment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Vocational or technical certificate in a related field with 5+ years of experience.
  • Good communication and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • U.S. Person status (citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee).

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, assembly and disassembly of mechanical assemblies using various tools and equipment.
  • May perform other general assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts.
  • Adjust or trim materials to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
  • Troubleshoot and replace defects of finished products.
  • Rework and repair defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
  • Follow safety procedures with hazardous chemicals to meet cleanliness specs.
  • Ensure quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Record information on production records, logs and other report forms.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform testing, assembly and disassembly of mechanical assemblies using both traditional and non-traditional tooling such as multimeter, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, power supply, function generator, screwdriver, torque wrench, standard wrench, etc.
  • May perform other general assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, sanding, cleaning, epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, impregnating, and color-coding parts and assemblies.
  • Adjust or trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.
  • Troubleshoot and replace defects of finished products.
  • Rework and repair defective units rejected by inspection or test personnel.
  • Follow safety procedures in the use and handling of flammable and hazardous chemicals required to meet all cleanliness specifications.
  • Ensure that quality checks are completed throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Record information on production records, logs and other report forms.

Salary Range

$44,500.00-$59,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, local regulations (such as minimum wage), education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
