Job summary

Woodlandsmed is seeking an assembler in Fort Walton Beach, FL. The role involves basic to intermediate electronic and mechanical assembly on components and subassemblies according to instructions and standards.

Responsibilities include mounting components, routing wiring, soldering, and following schematics. IPC solder training is required within 3 weeks, with a focus on quality and accuracy. Competitive pay and benefits available through Landrum Workforce Solutions.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and component identifications.
  • Ability to work with minute parts; strong finger dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to use stripping tools, wire cutters, soldering equipment, degreasers, and other tools of the trade.
  • IPC Solder Training and Certification within the initial 3 weeks of employment, with a 5% or less defect rate on the solder certification board.
  • Physical/Work Environment: production environment; stand/sit long hours; repetitive motion; lift up to 30 pounds; 20/20/color vision.

Responsibilities

  • Mount assembled components on panels or circuit boards.
  • Route wiring and cabling through assemblies to terminals; solder or wrap wires to provide electrical connection.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping, and color coding parts and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and stay at the assigned worksite during hours.
  • Clean parts using cleaning solutions and/or air hoses.
  • Mark and tag components to support stock identification and inventory tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

This position is located in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Summary

With supervision, performs basic and routine electronic and mechanical assembly operations on components, printed circuit boards, and subassemblies in accordance with established standards using visual aids and verbal and/or written instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Position and align parts in specified relationship to each other and use hand or power tools to secure parts.
  • Mount assembled components on panels or circuit boards.
  • Route wiring and cabling through assemblies to terminals according to color codes; solder or wrap wire around terminals to provide electrical connection.
  • Perform intermediate assembly tasks such as potting, encapsulating, cleaning, coating, epoxy bonding, wiring, stamping, and color coding parts and assemblies.
  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine material requirements and assembly instructions.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and remain at the assigned worksite during assigned hours.
  • Clean parts using cleaning solutions and/or air hoses.
  • Mark and tag components to support accurate stock identification and inventory tracking.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors and adhere to workplace rules.
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
  • Successful completion of IPC Solder Training and Certification within the initial 3 weeks of employment, with a 5% or less defect rate on the solder certification board.
  • Physical/Work Environment: production environment; ability to stand and sit for long periods; ability to perform repetitive motion; ability to lift up to 30 pounds; 20/20 vision and color vision (with or without corrective lenses).
Compensation and Benefits

Pay Rate: $16/hr+ DOE
Schedule: 7AM-5PM, 9/80 schedule
