Terex Corporation in Durand, MI is seeking a production assembler to perform a range of operations manufacturing machines using air and power tools. You will support the department, follow safety rules, and assist with assembly per blueprints.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, ability to read blueprints, operate hand and power tools, and contribute to continuous improvement. Shift options include 2nd shift with a premium; on-site work.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of assembly work in a manufacturing setting.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and tool use.
  • Able to read blueprints and work orders.
  • Strong problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment quickly.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; able to work with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

  • Operate grinders, drills, fixtures and gauges.
  • Operate forklift and overhead cranes.
  • Identify defective material and report issues.
  • Support continuous improvement and cost reduction.
  • Follow company policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Job Description:

Perform a variety of production operations related to the manufacturing of machines using air/power tools and hand tools. Provide department support, observe safety regulations, and attend work regularly. Duties may include assemble screen and feeders per blueprints.


Responsibilities


  • Adhere to Terex safety policies and procedures

  • Position, measure and assemble and secure parts according to blueprints, specified tolerances, special instructions and unit specifications.

  • Operate equipment such as; grinder, impact, sander, drill press, fixtures and gauges, and hand tools to aid in manufacturing.

  • Operate fork lift and overhead cranes

  • Detect and report defective material, improper operation of equipment, and equipment needing service or repair.

  • Drive continuous improvement through value stream, cost reduction and quality.

  • Comply with corporate/departmental policies and procedures.

  • Perform other related duties as directed that correspond to the overall function of this position


Preferred Qualifications


  • One+ years work experience, preferably assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Good mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to use hand and powered tools.

  • Ability to read blueprints, technical instructions and work orders.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, judgment and decision making skills.

  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems quickly.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills Ability to work with minimal guidance


The wage for this position is $17.50 plus $1.00 shift premium for 2nd shift.
