Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an Assembler for a six-plus month contract position located in Columbus, OH. The role focuses on assembling and wiring complex electronic assemblies in collaboration with Engineering and plant management.

The candidate should have four years of experience in a similar role, basic electronics knowledge, and strong mechanical skills, with the ability to read measuring devices and work Instructions precisely.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Four years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience and knowledge in basic electronics.
  • Excellent mechanical ability.
  • Able to read and use measuring devices (ruler, micrometer, calipers).
  • Able to read work instructions and apply data from specification sheets.

Responsibilities

  • Wires complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies.
  • Wires panels, PCBs and cabinets.
  • Wires components and runs.
  • Handles heavy components and sub-assemblies.
  • Performs assembly tasks: layout, preparations, fastening cables, wiring and soldering.
  • Operates tools and machinery (wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, cutters, crimpers, drills).
  • Follows all company policies (safety, attendance, breaks).

Job description

Akkodis is seeking an Assembler for a 6+ Contract position with a client located in Columbus, OH
Pay Range: $21/hr - $22/hr (The rate may vary based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)
Position Responsibilities

The Wireperson is responsible for the assembly and wiring to complete complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies by working closely with Engineering and plant management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Wires complex electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies
  • Wires panels, printed circuit boards and cabinets
  • Wires components and runs
  • Handles heavy components and sub-assemblies
  • Performs electronic and mechanical assembly tasks such as component layout, component preparations, fastening cables, wiring, and soldering.
  • Operates tools and machinery such as wrenches, screwdrivers, soldering irons, wire strippers, cutters, terminal lug crimpers, drills
  • Follows all company policies including but not limited to, safety, attendance, breaks, etc.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Four years’ experience working in a similar position.
  • Possess experience and knowledge in basic electronics
  • Possess excellent mechanical ability
  • Able to read and use measuring devices such as Ruler, Micrometer and Calipers
  • Able to read work instructions and apply them to specific work types
  • Able to read supplied specification sheets and apply the data to specific work types
