Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Plattsburgh is seeking a detail-oriented individual for a role requiring proficiency in mechanical and electrical skills. This position involves following work instructions, interpreting engineering drawings, and ensuring safety standards are met.

The candidate will also be responsible for acquiring materials for tasks and participating in maintenance programs. The expected salary ranges from $20.00 to $25.00 per hour, depending on various factors such as experience and education.

• Must be able to use electrical test equipment (megohmeter, high potential tester, multi‑meter).
• Must have a knowledge of the use of hand tools.
• Must be self‑motivated.
• Must be able to work independently with limited guidance.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to follow written work instructions/procedures.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
• Must know and understand QSP 09, or manufacturing principles.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft office).
• Must have a basic understanding of Oracle or equivalent.
• Must wear required personal protective equipment.
• Successfully pass initial and random drug screenings.

Job Experiences

• Basic knowledge of blueprints/schematics reading.
• Basic electrical and mechanical skills.
• Basic electro‑mechanical troubleshooting experience.
• Application of lean principles.
• Participated in a preventative maintenance program.
• Wiring harnessing, crimping, soldering, and wire routing experience.
• Participated in lean application events.

The salary rate for this role is currently $20.00-25.00. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, is available. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
