Job summary

The Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) seeks a Pre-Licensed Veterinary Technician who will pursue an AVMA-accredited degree while gaining hands-on clinical experience in a fast-paced teaching hospital. You will be supervised by Licensed Veterinary Technicians and veterinarians to deliver patient care and client service.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, labs, and EMR tasks, while maintaining organized spaces.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with basic animal handling experience.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program (distance learning acceptable).
• Must obtain Veterinary Technology degree within three years of enrollment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.
• Strong communication and ability to take and apply feedback.
• Basic knowledge of vaccines, lab tests, diseases, terminology, and animal behavior.
• Ability to use electronic medical records (ezyVet).
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care activities including exams, handling, medication administration, and transport.
• Support diagnostics and treatments through lab work and prep of clinical areas.
• Provide client service with appointments, consultations, and discharges.
• Maintain organized clinical operations, stocking, sanitizing, and EMR tasks.
