Job summary

Dollar General in Vermont is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising and daily store operations. You will help with recruiting, stock presentation and ensuring accurate cash handling and deposits.

Responsibilities include overseeing inventory processes, updating records, and guiding staff to provide excellent customer service. This role may involve opening or closing the store and working to meet in-stock targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Strong math and counting abilities including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock presentation.
• Assist in inventory management, damages, markdowns, scans and paperwork.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close the store as needed.
• Ensure cash control and deposit procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and well-stocked store environment.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
