Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Bachelor’s with TX Educator Certificate in Speech and Hearing Therapy
  • Active TX license for Speech and Language Pathology (TDLR) or TX Educator Certificate; SLP licensure required
  • ASHA CCC preferred but not mandatory; familiarity with TX laws and guidelines
  • Knowledge of ARD/IEP processes, evaluations, reports, and Medicaid documentation
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools and software applications

Responsibilities

  • Provide speech therapy services to students on assigned caseload
  • Conduct assessments and provide consultation in varied settings
  • Attend ARD/IEP meetings and document services as required
  • Participate in MTSS/SST meetings for referred students
  • Refer students for additional evaluations as needed
  • Educate and consult with parents, caregivers, staff and professionals
  • Explain test results to ARD/IEP committees
  • Develop therapy plans aligned with IEPs and curricula
  • Maintain all required documentation and records
  • Regularly report progress to parents per ARD determinations
  • Comply with IDEA, TEA, and TDLR rules for speech-language services
  • Participate in district meetings and Medicaid initiatives
  • Keep current with developments in speech-language pathology
