Job summary

Johnny’s Markets in Michigan invites applications for a Manager in Training to lead the in-store Jimmy John’s operation. You’ll work with Store and Area Managers to keep the location clean, safe, staffed, and stocked, ensuring top customer service around the clock.

You’ll manage books, cash control, scheduling, vendor relations, and adherence to franchise guidelines while developing staff and implementing store safety policies. This role blends operations with people leadership.

Qualifications

• Understanding of HR practices including recruiting, training, disciplining, and termination.
• Safety knowledge with fryers, ovens, refrigerators, freezers, knives and slicing machines.
• Strong communication with employees, customers, supervisors and vendors.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to multi-task daily.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel and email.
• Ability to read and interpret documents, count and make change.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver's license and a personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, well-staffed restaurant per brand standards.
• Handle daily restaurant bookkeeping and report to Store Manager.
• Manage cash in the register and schedule safe drops.
• Monitor profit and loss and investigate shortages or surpluses.
• Oversee ordering, receiving, and vendor check-in for supplies.
• Follow franchise guidelines for pricing, displays, and promotions.
• Rotate food per standards and report spoilage.
• Hire, supervise, and review staff; create weekly schedules.
• Process time sheets for payroll and enforce safety policies.
• Report maintenance, accidents, and emergencies immediately.
