Job summary

Mathews Mechanical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the project team from kickoff to closeout. You will collaborate with managers, field techs, customers, and office staff to organize tasks and ensure timely delivery of mechanical and construction projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience in estimating, documentation, scheduling, and coordination while learning how to advance into a Project Manager role within a team that values problem-solving and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 1–3 years in construction, project coordination, estimating, or related fields.
• Strong computer and organizational skills; industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with planning and coordinating projects.
• Help prepare estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
• Track project schedules, budgets, materials, and labor.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Coordinate with technicians and help keep projects on schedule.
• Review progress and identify potential issues early.
• Assist with purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and docs.
• Maintain accurate project records in our PM system.
