Job summary

Mathews Mechanical is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support planning and coordination of mechanical and construction projects. You will assist with estimates, proposals, schedules, budgets, and communication with customers, vendors, and field teams.

You will gain hands-on experience working with technicians and office staff, helping ensure projects stay on schedule while you develop toward a Project Manager role in a collaborative, team-driven environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in construction or project coordination.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong computer and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with planning and coordinating projects.
• Help prepare estimates, proposals, and project documentation.
• Track project schedules, budgets, materials, and labor.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams.
• Coordinate with technicians and help ensure projects stay on schedule.
• Review project progress and help identify issues before they become problems.
• Assist with purchase orders, change orders, invoices, and other project documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records in our project management system.
• Support projects involving mechanical equipment, fabrication, hydraulics/pneumatics, welding, and other industrial applications.
• Learn and develop the skills needed to advance into a Project Manager role.
