• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited registered nursing program.
• Preferred: successful completion of first year of clinical nursing program.
• CNA through MD Board of Nursing; AHA HealthCare Provider BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to patients with emphasis on hygiene, safety and comfort.
• Assists with admission, vital signs, weight, orientation and room setup.
• Supports discharge activities and patient transportation within the hospital.
• Documents care data, tracks intake/output and reports changes to nurse.
• Transports medications per policy and ensures proper handling.
• Participates in staff orientation and mentoring when needed.
