Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training in Missoula to join our civil/site team. You will help produce construction documents, calculations, and technical memoranda using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam, under guidance from a senior engineer.

You’ll contribute to plans for water and wastewater design across projects, support field observations, and grow technical foundations in a collaborative, growing civil group.

Qualifications

• ABET accredited degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of related job experience within the US.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to apply engineering concepts to real world applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Support licensed project engineers on the design of civil site projects.
• Plan layouts for small scale projects and coordinate deliverables across departments.
• Research jurisdictional requirements to inform project design decisions.
• Prepare project plans and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Perform engineering calculations to support project design.
• Draft technical memorandums and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
• Support construction administration, including onsite field observation.
