Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe driving practices and DOT rules cited.
• Ability to safely operate shuttle vehicles in varying traffic, weather, and road conditions.
• Ability to perform basic vehicle inspections and document findings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with supervisors, crew, and the public.
• Ability to use GPS/maps to follow routes and receive instructions.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to work overtime, weekends, and variable schedules.

Responsibilities

• The Line Driver operates company vehicles to transport asphalt from the plant to paving projects or transfer locations.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections including tires, fluids, lights, brakes, and safety equipment.
• Assist passengers with safe boarding and exiting and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain a clean, fueled, and presentable vehicle interior and exterior.
• Communicate professionally with supervisors, dispatch, foremen, crew members, passengers, and customers.
• Complete trip logs, mileage records, inspection forms, fuel records, passenger counts, and other documentation on time.
• Report vehicle defects, safety hazards, delays, and incidents to the supervisor promptly.
• Follow all traffic laws, DOT requirements, company policies, and site safety rules.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
