Job summary

Allan Myers is a leading self-performing heavy civil construction and materials company seeking a laborer for asphalt milling and paving duties. The role spans semi-skilled to skilled tasks with potential career progression into specialist roles such as Screed Person or QC Tech.

Overnight stays and night/weekend shifts occur during the busy season. Safety, teamwork and clear communication are essential on site.

Qualifications

• GED / HS Diploma is a plus
• Trade School is a plus
• Penndot Paving QC Technical experience is a plus
• TopCon or similar grade control experience is a plus
• CDL (A, B, Tanker, Hazmat) is a plus
• Tack Truck experience is a plus
• 2 yrs of related work experience is a necessity
• Active, valid Driver's License required
• Good MVR required

Responsibilities

• Perform duties involving shoveling, raking, luting, jack hammering and other tasks in asphalt milling and paving.
• Clean tools, materials and work areas and support crew as needed.
• Assist with a wide variety of manual tasks requiring fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
• Work safely and communicate clearly with crew members to ensure daily goals are met.
• Follow directions and adapt to different crew specialties such as screed, lute, side person, and truck roles.
• Adhere to all safety policies and stay home safe tonight program.
