Job summary

The Fred Smith Company is seeking an experienced CDL truck driver for an Asphalt Tack Truck Driver role in North Carolina. Local candidates preferred. Pay will be commensurate with experience, with benefits after 90 days including health, dental, vision insurance and paid time off.

Essential duties include following safety policies, operating equipment efficiently, and maintaining DOT logbooks. A valid Class A or B CDL and medical certificate are required, with endorsements as applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Class A or B CDL license
• Current medical examiner's certificate
• Endorsements if applicable to the position
• Experience in asphalt paving preferred

Job description

The Fred Smith Company is currently seeking an experienced CDL truck driver to fill an Asphalt Tack Truck Driver position. Applicants must have previous asphalt paving experience. We are a self-perform heavy civil contractor working in North Carolina. Pay will be commensurate with experience; all employees are eligible after 90 days for benefits such as health, dental and vision insurance and paid time off.

Essential duties of the role include:

• Follow all company safety policies including taking specific action to avoid incidents with the traveling public.


• Operate equipment in an efficient manner and follow instructions management


• Follow all equipment monitoring and maintenance requirements and maintain DOT required logbooks


• Must have a valid Class A or B CDL license, current medical examiners certificate and endorsements if applicable to the position
