Job summary

Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC is seeking a Tack Truck Driver responsible for the safe operation of the equipment and contribution to project completion as directed by the Foreman.

Qualifications include a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement and/or CDL Class A. Duties cover truck maintenance, tack heating, measurements, and assisting on the job with various tasks as needed. Field work with outdoor conditions is expected.

• Familiarity with tack truck operation and basic maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proper maintenance of the truck and distributor, including tire pressure, fluid levels, lights, etc.
• Keep equipment clean and organized; all necessary supplies and materials loaded and ready.
• Heat tack and operate tack truck.
• Take beginning and ending tack readings; complete tack report.
• Help with prep, broom, stringline, etc.
• Direct sanding operations to minimize cleanup.
• Clean out paver and put tools back on service truck.
• Run screw.
• Assist MOT as needed.
• Keep foreman informed of progress and problems relating to keeping the planned schedule.
• Assist on the job as directed by foreman.
• Keep shop informed of equipment problems.
• Report time spent and materials used daily as directed by foreman.
• Protect areas not designated to be primed; communicate with foreman when help is required to provide proper protection.

LICENSING/REGISTRATION

The Tack Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and proper operation of the equipment. We require that they be committed to the total Ajax team effort by contributing to the proper completion of the work as directed by the Foreman.

Responsibilities

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS

• Field operation – Work is exposed to outdoor conditions, noise and heat.
• Ability to work days, nights, and weekends as required.

Typical Physical Demands

The essential functions of this position includes sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, bending, twisting, trunk movements, lifting minimum of 45 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, low level work, dexterity of hands and fingers, seeing, hearing and talking.
