Job summary

CRH Preferred Materials – Asphalt Division in Florida is seeking an experienced paving equipment operator to join our team. You will operate paving equipment, control material feed, and ensure quality in asphalt projects across roadway construction.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related asphalt/road construction experience. A shift differential may apply, and CRH offers competitive base pay along with benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1–2 years related asphalt and road construction experience.
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently; control material fed into the paver.
• Thorough understanding of paving industry aspects: grades, drainage, patterns, aggregate, oil, compaction, job specs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain efficient operation of paving equipment and monitor material feed.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance; refer major problems to supervisor.

Requirements

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Control material taken into the paver and the depths of material distributed through the machine.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related asphalt and road construction experience.
