Job summary

Preferred Materials – Asphalt Division, part of CRH Americas, invites you to join our Florida team as an asphalt roller operator. This role supports high-quality paving projects with a strong safety culture and reliable teamwork.

You will operate the asphalt roller safely from paver to proper depths, follow paving patterns, perform minor maintenance, and escalate major issues to your supervisor as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of asphalt/road construction experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform minor maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt roller safely and efficiently from paver to depths.
• Understand paving patterns, grades, drainage, and compaction.
• Perform minor servicing and maintenance; report major issues to supervisor.

This is a highly skilled position involving the control and operation of theasphaltroller machine.

Requirements:

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently by following patterns to smooth material frompaver to proper depths.
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of the paving industry including preparatory work, grades, drainage, paving patterns, aggregate size, job specifications, oil consistencies, compaction and other details related to asphalt paving.
• The operator is responsible for the efficient working condition of the equipment and is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance or refer major problems to the supervisor.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related asphalt and road construction experience.
