Job summary

D&J Construction Company is seeking an Asphalt Quality Control Technician to monitor paving processes, test materials, and ensure compliance with project standards. The role collaborates with paving crews and supervisors to maintain high-quality asphalt production and placement.

The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt QC or materials testing, knowledge of density testing, mix designs, and IRI profiling, and strong data analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in asphalt paving quality control or materials testing.
• Knowledge of density testing methods, asphalt mix designs, and IRI profiling.
• Ability to interpret paving specifications and ensure compliance with project standards.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in testing equipment and data analysis tools for QC.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with foremen, superintendents, and roller operators to establish compaction patterns.
• Monitor asphalt temperature to verify mix design requirements.
• Analyze core densities to ensure proper on-site compaction.
• Correlate asphalt samples with plant QC to maintain consistency.
• Operate Ames profiler to measure IRI on surfaces.
• Identify and lay out bumps and rough sections that fail specifications.
• Ensure all testing and documentation meet industry regulations.
