A growing road construction company is seeking a Certified Asphalt Quality Control Technician for their West Central Georgia Asphalt Plant. Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-6 months of experience preferred.
• Pass GDOT QCT Level 1 certification within initial training period of 90 days.
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Georgia driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand GDOT and ALDOT test methods and SOP’s.
• Responsible for testing and inspection of roadway construction materials.
• Analysis of test data and documentation control.
• Corrective action to prevent non-conforming or contaminated materials from being produced or used.
• Documentation and data collection, control and reporting.
• Ensures bituminous asphalt concrete mixtures meet DOT, customer or job specifications.
• Assists in mix calibration and mixture formula changes in plant production.
• Act as liaison between RPC and DOT personnel, customers, engineering/testing firms, etc.
• Comply with all safety requirements.
• Other duties as assigned

Robinson Paving Company, a division of The Scruggs Company, is a growing road construction company. We are seeking to fill a Certified Asphalt Quality Control Technician position for our West Central Georgia Asphalt Plant.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the testing and inspection of roadway construction materials, paving techniques, and equipment being used, including but not limited to Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA).
• Analysis of test data
• Corrective action to prevent non-conforming or contaminated materials from being produced or used.
• Documentation and data collection, control and reporting.
• Ensures bituminous asphalt concrete mixtures meets DOT, customer or job specifications
• Assists in mix calibration and mixture formula changes in plant production
• Act as liaison between RPC and DOT personnel, customers, engineering/testing firms, etc.
• Comply with all safety requirements
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel, mathematical proportioning and algebra preferred
• Minimum of 3-6 months of experience preferred
• Pass GDOT QCT Level 1 certification within initial training period of 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to work days, nights, or weekends as needed
• Able to complete all required paperwork efficiently and have strong organizational skills.
• Must be able to meet company MVR requirements and have a valid Georgia driver’s license

• Proficiency assessment may be required prior to employment.
