Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking an Asphalt Plant Operative to join our team. This hands-on role focuses on operating and maintaining the asphalt plant safely and efficiently to produce high-quality materials for our road-building projects.

You will be involved in daily planning, start-up/shut-down procedures, and monitoring equipment. A strong safety culture, practical mechanical skills, and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Safety-first and practical in a hands-on production setting.
• Able to operate and monitor asphalt plant machinery.
• Reliable with good time management and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor the asphalt plant to meet production targets.
• Plan daily production and coordinate with site requirements.
• Start-up and shut-down procedures to maximise output safely.
• Carry out maintenance and inspections per site procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of operations and safety checks.
• Operate mobile plant equipment (e.g., FELs, dumpers) when required.
• Assist with material handling and site housekeeping.
• Travel to Heidelberg Materials sites as needed.
