Job summary

Blythe Construction is seeking an Asphalt Plant Operator to manage start-up and operation of hot mix asphalt plants. You will feed raw materials, operate the drum, and ensure timely loading of trucks to job sites.

The role requires ability to read manuals, follow safety policies, and communicate with road crews. Nights and weekends may be required; physical demands include lifting up to 150 lbs and working outdoors in all conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5+ years of industry experience in asphalt plant operations.
• Ability to read and comprehend manuals and directives.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 150 pounds with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and load trucks.
• Assist to ensure safety policies are followed and implemented.
• Work with Quality Control Department to ensure a quality mix is produced.
• Assist Plant Foreman in ordering materials needed for plant operation.
• Assist Plant Foreman with stockpile management.
• Maintain all required paperwork.
• Communicate with road crews hourly and daily.
• Assist with plant maintenance.
• Operate loader when needed.
• Help maintain cleanliness of the plant site.
