Job summary

Blythe Construction in Charlotte, NC, seeks an Asphalt Plant Operator to start up and run hot mix asphalt plants, load trucks, and maintain efficient, safe operation.

You will work with Quality Control to ensure a quality mix, assist Foreman with material orders and stockpile management, and perform routine maintenance while following safety guidelines. This role requires flexibility for night and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires previous asphalt plant operation experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5 years or more experience in asphalt plant operations.
• Ability to read and follow manuals and directives.
• Physical ability to lift up to 150 pounds with assistance; climb on/off heavy equipment.
• Welding and electrical/electronics experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate plant and load trucks.
• Ensure safety policies are followed and implemented.
• Coordinate with Quality Control for mix quality.
• Assist Foreman with material orders and stockpile management.
• Maintain all required paperwork and communicate with road crews.
• Perform plant maintenance as needed.
• Operate loader when required.
• Maintain plant site cleanliness.
• Work nights and weekends as required.
