Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to operate, maintain, and repair asphalt production equipment in a Missouri plant. You will follow safety rules, manage material flow, and help ensure in-spec hot mix production.

Expect varied hours, including nights and weekends, with opportunities to work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred.

• Capacity to work in variable weather conditions and dirty, dusty environments.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and on elevated platforms, including heights over 50 feet.
• Mechanical, fabricating, and repair experience preferred.

• Union membership may be required or willingness to join.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair equipment used to produce asphalt mix under the Foreman's direction.
• Follow all safety requirements to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work site, including shoveling and sweeping, and skid steer operation.
• Load out trucks for material distribution using computerized operations.
• Feed aggregate materials into the asphalt plant.
• Replace wear components on plant equipment, including cutting, welding, and fabricating.
• Work on elevated platforms and in confined spaces.
• Monitor heat mix asphalt test results to verify quality and compliance.
• Operate fall-protection gear and a range of heavy equipment as required.

• Operate, maintain, and repair equipment used to produce asphalt mix under the direction of the Foreman
• Follow all safety requirements to maintain a safe work environment
• Maintain a clean and orderly work site, including shoveling, sweeping, and skid steer operation
• Monitor equipment operation and material flow to produce high-quality, in-spec hot mix asphalt
• Load out trucks for material distribution using computerized operations
• Feed aggregate materials into the asphalt plant
• Replace wear components on plant equipment, including cutting, welding, and fabricating
• Work on elevated platforms and enter and monitor confined spaces
• Monitor aggregate gradations and moisture contents for material consistency
• Monitor hot mix asphalt test results to verify quality and job-specification compliance
• Operate welders, oxy-acetylene torches, pneumatic jackhammers, power tools, front-end loaders, skid steer loaders, aerial man lifts, telehandlers, water trucks, telescoping boom trucks, and dump trucks
