Job summary

Sunrock Industries in Durham, NC is seeking an Asphalt Plant Utility Person responsible for daily maintenance, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the plant(s). The role requires safe, productive work in an industrial setting and occasional travel to other locations. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

The candidate should have basic mechanical knowledge, be able to read simple instructions, and communicate effectively with supervision. A NC driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; not required.
• Less than 1 year of related experience required.
• Must have North Carolina driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Complies with safety policies, reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Keeps a clean and orderly work area and attends to housekeeping tasks.
• Inspects rolling equipment and reports malfunctions to maintenance team.
• Maintains maintenance records of completed work and parts replaced.
• Assists in dismantling defective machines and installing parts.
• Lubricates bearings, gears, and shafts; services conveyors and related equipment.
• Operates front-end loader and skid steer for plant operations and cleanup.
• Communicates issues to supervisor and participates in proactive team efforts.
• Performs other duties as assigned and provides leadership by example.
