Job summary

South Reading Asphalt, a division of H&K Group, Inc., is seeking an Asphalt Groundperson to support plant operations near Birdsboro, PA. The ideal candidate is safety minded, action oriented, detail focused, and excels at teamwork.

Responsibilities include plant maintenance, maintaining clean work areas, and learning all plant functions while adhering to MSHA safety policies. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to fit test and utilize PPE as needed.
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job).
• A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies.
• Perform all work in a safe and professional manner.
• Perform plant maintenance.
• Maintain clean work areas including catwalks, walk-ways and general plant area.
• Proactively learn plant functions and operations.
• Obtain all knowledge to complete assigned tasks.
• Take direction from and work in a team with all other site personnel.
• Cross train to learn all jobs of plant and be able to substitute when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.
