Job summary

Gravel Products Inc is seeking a hands-on Equipment Operator/Maintenance Worker to safely operate asphalt and grading equipment, perform routine inspections, and ensure the site runs smoothly.

You will diagnose minor issues, coordinate with teammates and supervisors, and perform preventative maintenance as needed. Must follow safety rules and wear PPE.

Candidates should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varying temperatures, and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent verbal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Must be able to manage several projects with tight deadlines.
• Must demonstrate strong safety awareness and compliance with policies and safety standards.
• Must wear PPE including safety vests, glasses when appropriate, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
• Valid Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt and grading equipment safely and maintain it.
• Perform walk-around/site inspections to identify unsafe conditions.
• Conduct preventative maintenance to keep equipment serviced.
• Troubleshoot problems and discuss production issues with coworkers and supervisors.
• Take initiative to assist with other tasks as needed for job completion.

• Perform walk-around and site inspections for all equipment to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
• Responsible for preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is properly maintained and serviced as needed.
• Troubleshoot, problem solve, and successfully discuss production problems with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must have the initiative, ability, and willingness to perform and assist with other job positions for job completion as requested.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

• This job requires the ability to lift, pull, and push a minimum of 50 lbs., bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat twist, and climb heavy equipment several times throughout the day, and balance at heights up to 6 feet from ground level. In addition, you must have the ability to be on your feet regularly and use hands, arms, and legs repeatedly on the job. This includes frequently walking on sloped ground and slippery and uneven surfaces, as well as working in confined areas.
