Job summary

Idaho Materials & Construction, a CRH Company, is seeking an Asphalt Laborer to assist with placement, finishing, and maintenance of asphalt on construction projects. You will support paving crews to complete projects safely, efficiently, and in line with quality standards.

Key duties include shoveling, raking, and smoothing asphalt, working around heavy equipment, and ensuring proper thickness and finish while adhering to safety protocols. Strong teamwork and reliable attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Construction or asphalt/paving experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the placement, spreading, and leveling of asphalt materials.
• Support paving operations, including shoveling, raking, and smoothing asphalt.
• Work around heavy equipment such as pavers, rollers, and trucks.
• Follow grade and prep instructions to ensure proper thickness and finish.
• Clean tools, equipment, and work areas before, during, and after projects.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on tools and equipment.
• Direct traffic and maintain safe work zones as needed.
• Work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors to meet production goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
