Job summary

Lone Star Paving is seeking a Common Laborer to join our paving crew in the Central Texas region. You will work with the foreman and superintendent to ensure high-quality asphalt work and project completion.

The ideal candidate has some physical labor experience, can operate basic tools, and is committed to safety and teamwork. This is a full-time, outdoors role with potential overtime and travel across Texas.

Responsibilities

• General laborer duties with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews
• Shovel, rake and handle small tools
• Equipment cleanup as needed
• May operate small power tools
• Signal equipment operators for alignment
• Assist in placing, moving and dismantling signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices
• Other duties as assigned

Lone Star Paving is a paving contractor, operating in the Central Texas region with paving crews, HMA, aggregate, trucking, milling, and quality control. Our operations complete heavy highway and civil projects throughout Texas. Position Overview

The Common Laborer position is an integral part of the paving crew working with the entire team, foreman, and superintendent to ensure paving jobs are completed to high standards. The ideal candidate is familiar with physical labor and is able to perform tasks related to asphalt work in numerous settings and environments.

Key Responsibilities

• General laborer duties associated with asphalt paving, patching or prep crews.
• Required ability to shovel, rake and handle other small tools.
• Equipment cleanup as needed.
• May be called upon to run small power tools.
• Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment and movement of materials.
• Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices.
• Ability to perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

• Entry Level Position
• Working knowledge of asphalt production and associated equipment, and an understanding of operations and safety requirements is preferred.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, a plus
• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required

Working Conditions

• Be available for overtime, extended hours, night shifts, and weekends as required.
• Some travel may be required as our operations span throughout Texas.
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include but not be limited to inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.
• Proper PPE is required at all times.
