Job summary

El Paso County's Public Works Department seeks a Lead Equipment Operator for the Asphalt Crew to lead crews in asphalt maintenance and repair. You will supervise daily tasks, operate heavy equipment, and ensure safety and quality standards on road projects.

The role requires hands-on leadership, experience with asphalt repair techniques, and the ability to coordinate snow removal operations and site maintenance. In-person with scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in maintenance, repair, construction, or related areas.
• Three years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• One year of leadership experience in a public works environment.
• Six months of computer and software use experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversees crew(s) in maintenance and construction duties including asphalt, general maintenance, drainage, and signs.
• Provides direction, assigns daily tasks, and ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Trains equipment operators and mentors staff on best practices.
• Performs snow removal operations and maintains records of work performed.
