Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking a contract Sign Language Interpreter to support students and educational teams in Aspen, Colorado. You will interpret between spoken English and ASL for classrooms, supporting students and staff during instruction and school activities.

Work closely with educators and families, maintain confidentiality, and participate in IEP meetings as needed. Compensation ranges and benefits are provided in the posting, with a 60-day open posting window.

Qualifications

• ASL proficiency is required.
• Prior school-based interpretation experience is preferred.
• RID certification or equivalent strongly desired.
• Knowledge of educational terminology is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, educators, and support staff.
• Commitment to confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret between spoken English and ASL for students, teachers and staff during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Help students understand instructional material and participate in classroom discussions.
• Facilitate communication during parent/teacher conferences, assemblies, meetings and extracurricular events as needed.
• Adapt to diverse learning environments and student abilities.
• Remain impartial and interpret faithfully without personal input.
• Prepare for classes by reviewing lesson materials when possible.
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on accommodations.
