The Stepping Stones Group is seeking a qualified American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter to join our Denver-based, full-time school team. You will support Deaf or Hard of Hearing students by enabling effective classroom communication and equal access to educational services.

In this role, you will work with students, teachers, administrators, and staff to ensure meaningful participation in instruction and activities, while upholding confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English.
• Educational Interpreter certification, state licensure, or Colorado-credentialed requirements.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred.
• Experience working with children and adolescents preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards.

Responsabilités

• Provide sign language interpretation for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students during classroom instruction and school activities.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, peers, and families as appropriate.
• Interpret lectures, discussions, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
• Support students' access to academic content while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
• Adhere to professional ethics, confidentiality standards, and district policies.
• Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities as needed.
