Job summary

Kelso Building Services in Aspen, CO, is seeking an HVAC technician for a commercial retrofit project. You will remove and replace equipment, install VRF/VAV systems, and work with building controls to improve energy efficiency.

This role requires 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, VRF familiarity, ability to read blueprints, and strong troubleshooting. EPA Universal certification and OSHA 10 preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on HVAC experience.
• Experience with VRF systems and commercial work.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
• Physical capability to climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and work in confined spaces.
• Strong troubleshooting instincts for installation challenges.
• EPA Universal certification preferred.
• OSHA 10 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace commercial heating and cooling equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, and rooftop package units.
• Install VRV/VAV equipment and advanced building controls.
• Run low-voltage control wiring and complete rough-in work.
• Assist with light sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
• Communicate with customers on-site to answer questions and explain work being performed.
• Work alongside crew members to keep projects on schedule and meet customer expectations.
