Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking an After School Program Assistant to support students, staff and visitors and help maintain a safe, orderly environment.

The position is a temporary, hourly role ($15/hour) with no eligibility for employee benefits. Duties include supervising students, assisting with activities, keeping records, and following safety procedures. You will join staff meetings and trainings and adhere to district policies.

Qualifications

• Standard high school diploma or satisfactory GED (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records and distribution of snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for student behavior and safety and informs Coordinator of difficulties
• Attends and participates in staff meetings and required trainings
• Maintains good attendance and notifies when absent
• Follows emergency procedures for health concerns, severe weather, fires or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to safety procedures
• Follows federal/state laws and School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of any General Education Development (GED) Testing Program preferred.

Assist students, staff and visitors in the school to maintain an efficient, courteous and orderly environment.

Job Duties

• Assists with roll call to ensure accountability for all students
• Assists in planning and implementing student activities for assigned classes
• Assists in maintaining proper records ? Assists in the distribution of snacks
• Actively supervises students during daily activities
• Maintains expectations for students’ behavior and safety and informs Assistant Coordinator of difficulties requiring disciplinary action
• Attends and participates in After School Program staff meetings and required training sessions
• Maintains a good attendance record and makes Assistant Coordinator aware when needing to be absent
• Follows appropriate procedures for emergencies such as student or staff health concerns, severe weather, suspected fire or facility issues
• Ensures adherence to good safety procedures
• Follows federal and state laws, as well as School Board policies
• Performs other duties as assigned

• This position is a temporary assignment; payment based on hours worked, and as work is available, with no eligibility or seniority for employee benefits.
