Job summary

Gallaudet University in Washington, DC seeks an American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI) Coordinator to organize ASLPI operations, evaluator training, calibration, and quality assurance, ensuring valid and reliable proficiency assessments.

Reporting to the Interim Strategic Planning and Operations Officer, you will manage scheduling, documentation, case logs, and dashboards; supervise evaluators; coordinate with admissions and academic programs; and uphold university policies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3+ years in ASL instruction/evaluation or related field.
• ASLPI proficiency level 4+ or higher.
• Ability to communicate in American Sign Language.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate ASLPI operations, evaluator assignments, testing logistics, documentation, scheduling, and coverage.
• Develop and maintain training, onboarding, observation, co-rating, and certification programs for interviewers and raters.
• Supervise evaluators and ensure scoring accuracy and protocol adherence.
